This past week, Club Walden Server Laura Seiverth celebrated 30 year of service to Club Walden! Laura began her career at Club Walden January 15, 1984. She said the Clubhouse was much smaller when she began, and did not include the addition of the mixed grille and men’s locker room. She came to Walden under the recommendation from her girlfriend Barb who was already working at Walden. Laura has many fond memories of Walden and mentioned it has always been such a fun place to work!
Some of her fondest memories were years playing on the Walden Employee Bowling League. She said all the servers were “young” like her back then and it was always a good laugh! The Walden Members have always been wonderful to the staff Laura commented. Years ago there was a dining room manager named Pat. Pat was a tiny woman and the male golfers used to carry her around the dining room and she would yell in her raspy voice “put me down.” Laura said it was always in good fun.
For many years there was a large red piano in the Main Dining Room and Laura remembers the night Harry Conick Jr. came to play at Walden! What a treat that was.
Laura said she has met some really nice people over the years at Walden, and the Members have always treated her very kindly. Walden is very fortunate to have Laura as an employee. Bianca, the Clubhouse Manager, stated the Club would not be the same without Laura and she is very grateful for her long years of service. We look forward to another 30 years of Laura’s service to Walden.
Laura and her husband Bob have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Laura is looking forward to a cruise to Hawaii in the near future where she can relax and celebrate her 30 years of service!
